This is a web site for a fictional company called Black Oak T-Shirts. This was an interesting project in that I was not allowed to use any server side scripting. I was not, however, restricted on my use of client-side scripting so I used a Javascript library called jQuery and an XML file where I could store product information (much as I would do with a database).
Almost all of the shopping page content is created dynamically using the above methods. AJAX can only do so much, though and there is no shopping cart to process an order, this must be done with server-side scripting and a database. Other than that, this site is very dynamic, modern, and fully standards compliant. I will be revisiting this project in the future and updating it with server side processing and a fully functional shopping cart. Stay tuned…
